Acronis True Image Success Story MedAire

Overview

Established in 1985, MedAire provides real-time, emergency medical and security assistance services for companies with employees, customers or guests in remote environments. Clients include commercial airlines, corporate flight departments, maritime operators and government agencies. In providing clients a total health and security solution, MedAire also provides clients with related training, web-based information and specialized resources such as medical and security kits. Key Challenges

Redundancy was a big issue, as such MedAire was looking for a solution that enabled the company to quickly recovery from an outage. MedAire reviewed a number of other products, but selected Acronis because of its ease-of-use, compatibility with USB devices, and lights-out image creation capabilities. The company performed extensive tests of the software to ensure that all of the servers and applications running on the servers could be restored from an image.

Complete Success

MedAire has successfully implemented Acronis True Image Server for Windows. The product is running on 10 servers running a variety of mission critical applications: CRM, RAS, backup, and telephony. The systems are set up in a RAID 5 configuration. Medaire has scheduled each server to be imaged on a regular basis. Images are saved to a network share which is in turn copied via a batch file to an external USB drive.

The product was implemented quickly and easily, with no user training. While MedAire has not had a server go down since implementing the solution, the company has peace of mind knowing that they can quickly recover an entire server in minutes.
